Notice of changes to Servus Credit Union Member Agreement

Effective June 1, 2018 Servus Credit Union will make a number of changes to the Member Agreement, which outlines the terms and conditions of membership and use of the credit union's services.

The most notable changes include:

A. – The definition of Access Codes now includes biometrics (e.g., facial images, fingerprints, etc.) and updates card references

C.1. – The notification period and notification methods about changes to terms, conditions and fees have changed to provide more flexibility while still ensuring adequate notice

C.8. - To reflect current clearing standards, previously deposited items that are returned (e.g. NSF cheques), will no longer be mailed

C.12. – Clarification about joint accounts, agreements and transactions related to joint accounts and who can make transactions on accounts requiring multiple signatures in the event of death

D.2. – Clarification of authority to process electronic transactions

G. - Provision for overdraft protection has been incorporated

H.4 (formerly section G) – Clarification to conform with Canadian Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) enabling members to better manage their communication preferences

I.12 (formerly section H) – Removes duplication about changes to terms and conditions of the agreement.

Other minor revisions have been made to grammar, spelling, punctuation etc.
