    Lead with Purpose.

Help Ignite the Power of Shared Prosperity.

Our Board of Directors’ Call for Candidates runs from August 25 to September 19, 2025. Members interested in serving on the board are encouraged to submit their application during this period.

    Become a board member

Servus Credit Union's Board of Directors is a passionate group of members with experience as entrepreneurs, business leaders, community advocates, and so much more.

They work as a team to serve and represent our more than half a million members with a laser focus on setting up our credit union for the future and providing value to our membership and communities.

The Board of Directors plays a critical role in shaping the future of Servus Credit Union.

Directors guide the strategic decisions that define how we deliver on our purpose: igniting the power of shared prosperity.

    • With over $38B in assets, nearly 3,000 employees, and more than half a million members, board service is more than governance — it’s an opportunity to guide a purpose-driven organization whose impact is felt across members’ financial lives, employee experience, and the communities we serve.

    • Servus recently became Canada’s largest and strongest credit union. Building on this momentum requires bold thinking, strong governance, and a mindset that reflects our values:

      • Evolving every day

      • Unapologetically ambitious

      • Purposely cooperative

    • We believe strong governance reflects the people it serves. We encourage members from all backgrounds, professions, and communities to consider running.

    Commitment & Eligibility

Serving on the Board is a paid position, and directors serve three-year terms. Directors are expected to demonstrate a strong commitment to governance responsibilities. This includes:

    • Attending regularly scheduled Board meetings (typically five per year) and an annual two- to three-day planning session.

    • Serving on at least one committee, with quarterly and additional meetings as required.

    • Participating in ad hoc meetings as needed.

    • Engaging in ongoing education and other committee work.

Refer to this document to learn more about the Board’s functions, commitments, and liabilities.

To be eligible to run for the Board, members must have joined the credit union on or before March 5, 2025, be in good standing, and meet baseline requirements in financial literacy and board governance. The full list of eligibility criteria is outlined in the Candidate Application Package.

Priority Skills & Experience for 2026

Each year, the Board identifies priority skills and experiences that will support our evolving strategic needs. For the 2026 election, the Board will consider the full set of board competencies, but is placing particular emphasis on candidates with strengths in:

      • Innovation & Artificial Intelligence (Al)
      • IT/Digital/Data Governance
      • Environmental Social Governance (ESG)

Other relevant experience and perspectives aligned with our values are also encouraged.

    • Candidates self-assess board-level competencies including governance and financial literacy.

    • Once a member has submitted their Candidate Application Package, the following steps will take place:

      • The Nominations Committee will review all eligible applications and determine which applicants will be invited to an interview for further consideration. This process is supported by an independent HR recruitment professional to help ensure a fair and robust assessment.

      • Candidates selected for further consideration will be invited to interviews, which will take place October 28-30, 2025.

      • The final list of candidates will be confirmed by the Board by November 12, 2025.
