Servus Free Movie Monday gives more people the opportunity to experience CIFF at no cost

(August 24, 2026, Calgary, AB) — One thousand Calgarians will have the chance to experience the Calgary International Film Festival (CIFF) for free thanks to Servus Credit Union's Free Movie Monday on September 28.

As presenting sponsor of CIFF, Servus is helping make arts and culture more accessible by providing 1,000 complimentary tickets to festival screenings at Globe Cinema, Chinook Theatre and Plaza Theatre. Through Servus Free Movie Monday, more people can discover world-class films, experience diverse stories and take part in one of Calgary's most celebrated cultural events.

"Some of the best community experiences are the ones that bring people together around a shared story. Whether it's a film that makes you laugh, challenges your perspective or sparks a conversation long after the credits roll, those moments matter," said Ian Burns, President and CEO of Servus Credit Union. "We're proud to once again support the festival and help open the doors to more Calgarians through Servus Free Movie Monday."

"Servus Free Movie Monday is a wonderful example of what's possible when community-minded organizations come together," said Katherine Penhale, CIFF's Executive Director. "Servus Credit Union shares our belief that access to the arts can make a meaningful difference in people's lives, and their support is helping more Calgarians experience the festival this year. We can't wait to welcome audiences to discover something unforgettable at CIFF."

Recognized as one of Canada's leading film festivals, CIFF brings filmmakers, artists and audiences together from around the world while also shining a spotlight on local talent and storytelling. Beyond the big screen, the festival contributes to Calgary's cultural vibrancy and fosters creativity, dialogue and community connection.

Servus has proudly supported CIFF for several years as part of its commitment to investing in initiatives that strengthen communities, celebrate creativity and enrich the places Albertans call home.

A dedicated promotional code will be available through ciffcalgary.ca beginning on Friday August 28, 2026 at 10 a.m. MT. Tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis while quantities last.
