Servus website privacy

On the Servus website, we collect only personal information that is required to improve the services we offer, to improve our site content and, with your permission, to contact you with information about our services. We will not share any personal information obtained on this website with any other organization without your express knowledge and consent.

You can visit public areas of our site without providing any personal information. Our website collects only non-personal information based on a visitor’s Internet Protocol (IP) address (this is not personally identifiable). Information collected includes the date and time of visit, the type of Internet browser used to access the site, and the referring address (the link a visitor uses to access the site). This data is used to create statistics on site usage and improve online services.

Links to other websites

Our website contains links to other websites that are part of, affiliated with or have a business relationship with Servus Credit Union. When you leave our site to visit one of these other sites, the only information transferred to the new site is the fact that you came from the Servus Credit Union website (the referring address). Transmission of this referring address allows other sites to monitor their own web traffic, but does not disclose any personal information about you.

Email

Email communications that are not encrypted are not a secure means of communication over the Internet. Sensitive member information should not be included in an unencrypted email communication and Servus does not recommend that any personal information be sent using unencrypted email. If you wish, you may include a phone number where we may contact you for further details or clarification.

Cookies

A cookie is a small identifier message that is sent from a web server to a web browser, such as Microsoft Internet Explorer or Firefox. The cookie message is stored in the web browser’s memory and is sent back to the web server each time the web browser requests a web page.

The main use for cookies is to uniquely identify a user. Websites use cookies for different reasons. For example, you may be asked to complete a form that asks where you live, your age, and your hobbies. This information is then stored in the cookie file so that the information displayed to you on that specific website is personalized to you.

Every time you log-in to online banking, Servus Credit Union issues you a unique cookie. This cookie does not collect any information from your computer nor is it saved to your computer hard drive. Servus Credit Union uses the cookie to ensure that you receive financial information that belongs to you. When you log out of online banking and close your web browser the cookie expires.

Servus Credit Union reserves the right to amend its Internet Privacy Statement at any time with or without notice. Please check this page periodically for changes.
